2nd Annual International conference on Significance of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Peace Education in Nepal

World Without Anger (WWA) and Global Peace Association (GPA) Nepal were jointly organized 2nd Annual International Conference on Significance of Emotional Intelligence and Peace Education in Nepal on 30 December 2010 with the graceful presence of Honorable Delli Bahadur Mahat, Ministry for State, Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction, Government of Nepal stressed that this kind of conference and its output would be beneficial to the people of Nepal to restore peace and harmony and also said that 12 Point dealed between Government and Maoist is not sufficient to establish absolute peace in Nepal but also implement these kinds of programs and activities would be helpful.

Likewise Kathmandu District Local Committee Chairman Prof. Bhimsen Das Pradhan said that Local Peace Committee is interested to implement WWA program and activities in all schools of Kathmandu District. One of the guests from international community Dr. Rupali Jeswal spoke out an importance of Emotional Intelligence and its usage in the day to day life to the developing country like Nepal to create friendly environment. President of WWA Mr. DM Basnet said in his welcome speech that this is the right time to develop Emotional Intelligence programs and activities to the people of Nepal and the world to confront the current issues. WWA tries to develop UNESCO’s Inter-Agency Peace Education Program as other country doing.

The program was chaired by Dr. Kishwor Rajbhandari and highlighted that WWA and GPA Nepal’s mutual efforts would be helpful to come out from the transitional period of Nepal. The government’s agendas should not be only limited with abstract but also substantial for the aspiration of the people. Likewise, Prof. Dr. Triratna Manandhar, Vice-Chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University stressed that he is happy to work with WWA as Buddha’s Philosophy of Peace. In the conference, there about seven imperial researched papers were presented from national and international in the field of Peace education and emotional intelligence where Prof. Dr. M.P. Regmi, Mr. Arahan Sthapit, Dr. Dean Van Leuven, Dr. Repali Jeswal, Prof. Dr. Khadga Man Shrestha, Mr. Ramesh Dawadi, and Mr. Mukunda Raj Kandel, of. Dr. Manohar Krishna Shrestha, Prof. Dr. Tulasi Ram Vaiday, and Dr. Sanubhai Dongol were presiding and commenting the different sessions of the research papers. At the end of the conference sessions, certificated awarded to the paper presenters by Dr. Kishwor Rajbhandari, GPA Nepal.
