9th Int’l Conference “Global Peace through Emotional Intelligence Education (EQ/EI), Organization Management and Positive Psychology for Inner Peace, Business Success and A Better Life”.

World Without Anger(WWA),Global Peace Foundation(GPF) Nepal and Co-organizer Samriddhi   College Locanthali, Bhaktapur Jointly organizing two days 9th International Conference held in Kathmandu, Nepal.The conference is organized with the international partnership of EQ4Peace Worldwide Inc.,USA and National Association Psychological Science (NAPS) India  entitled “Global Peace through Emotional Intelligence Education (EQ/EI), Organization Management and Positive Psychology for Inner Peace, Business Success and A Better Life”, held on  25-26 October 2019.

The overall theme of the international conference is Creating a Peaceful World Society through Emotional Intelligence for a better life.The inaugural ceremony was opened by the chief guest Prof. Dr. Lekh Nath Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Nepal Open University expressed that practice of emotional Intelligence in daily life bring peace and harmony in individual and societies in general.The Patron of World Without Anger as the international speaker and special guest Mr. Matt Perelstein, USA and President of EQ4Peace Worldwide Inc. USA reminded the statement of emotional intelligence conference at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA key strategies for using emotional intelligence to fuel the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), so the world’s largest emotional intelligence project is building capacity for a future filled with well-being. He further added that  WWA’s 9th International Conference share in our desire to create a more peaceful world. EQ can teach us inner peace (within us), interpersonal peace (among us) and social peace (in groups, teams and families). Likewise, Dr. Ashis Sen, Chairman  of Forum for Emotional Intelligence Learning, India as a guest speaker emphasized the importance of Neuroscience and emotional intelligence in the present day World. Similarly, Prof. Dr. Shilu Manandhar Bajracharya, Dean, Faculty of Management and Law, Nepal Open University opined that the theme of the conference is extremely timely when the World economy has grown many hundred times during the last two or three centuries. Prof. Dr. Murari Prasad Regmi, Chief Advisor of WWA  viewed about life without anger model is helpful to control fit of anger aggression and aversion.

In the welcome speech of Prof. Dr. Arhan Sthapit as a convenor highlighted on the theme and procedures of the two days international conference.  Mr. Manohar K. Bhattarai, Chairperson of Sambriddhi Group highlighted about the emotional literacy and emotional intelligence education. Prof. Dr. Shishir Subba, Former Asst. Dean, Humanities and Social Sciences stressed about the anger management in the modern societies.

WWA awarded the winner the 4th “The Dean of International Peace Prize(DOIPP)”, 2019 to Prof. Dr. Arhan Sthapit. The award is given in honor of Dr. Dean Van Leuven”The Dean of Peace”. Person who has richly contributed in the areas of  emotional literacy, peace/positive psychology, psycho-social well being and people management. The DOIPP award is handed over to Prof. Arhan for his contribution in the areas. The award includes a certificate, medal and Twenty-five Thousand Rupees. The cash prize is sponsored by Gurkhas Finance Limited.

In the same occasion Chief Guest of the 9th international conference Prof. Dr. Sharma also  released the WWA International Journal Volume – 7, Series: World Without Anger: A Cross – cultural Series on Emotional Intelligence edited by Murari Prasad Regmi, Nepal, Karen B. Schmaling, USA, and Antigonos Sochos U.K. and the book was published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing, U.K. The WWA International Journal includes seven research papers which were presented in the seven International Conference of WWA held in 2016.

Giving the vote of thanks, Er. Ram Rohan Panta, President of Global Peace Foundation Nepal expressed deep appreciation of all the individuals and institutions for contributing all the helps and cooperation to held the 9th International conference to be a grand success. In the concluding remarks, Mr. DM Basnet, Chairman of the program highlighted on the international conference since First to Ninth and appreciated all the cooperation extended for the success of the international conferences which might be helpful to the societies to bring the inner peace for a better life.

The conference is divided into Opening session -1, Plenary  session-2,  technical sessions-7, Disclosure cum Workshop session -1 and valedictory session-1 providing WWA’s the opportunity to focus on specific areas from their own perspective and national and international experiences. In the conference, 32 research papers are presented from Nepal, India, Shri-Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Philippines, South-Africa, and United States of America. Five International Keynote Speakers are dealing with 1. Life without Anger: Learning to Live Peacefully through Emotional Education (EQ) 2. “Neuroscience and Emotional Intelligence 3. Applied Psychology and Well-being 4. Faith, Emotions and Inner Peace: Important Lesson and 5.Ten Perfections a Tool for Business Success: Buddhist Prospective.

 

The chief guest of the valedictory session Prof. Dr. Saroj Ojha, Head of Department of Psychiatry and Metal Health, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital focused that Mental health is more and more important day to day life similar to physical health. Ms. Paula Perelstein, USA and Ms. Withanage Disna Ranjanie, Shri-Lanka both highlighted the theme of the 9th International Conference and appreciated its outcomes. In the same session, Mr. Bharat Giri, Secretary General of WWA, in his  welcome speech expressed his appreciation for all the assistance and helps. Mr. Naresh Prasad Shrestha said that in his vote of thanks ,the emotional literacy program has to be implemented from  the school level curriculum.

The valedictory session was chaired by Dr. Laxman Shakya, Vice President of World Without Anger(WWA) and Head of 9th International Conference Steering Committee expressed in his concluding remarks that he appreciated and thanks to all national and international delegates for their valuable contributions.
