In this 3rd phase training program 850 students were graduated from 14 government and private schools. The purpose of the graduation ceremony was to distribute certificates to the graduated students after completing 3 months LWAETP training in their respective schools. Dr. Manandhar distributed certificates to the graduated and volunteers. He remarked that he was very happy to honor the graduated students for this training. He stated, “this kind of peace education program is very essential to create peace and harmony to settle the current scenario of Nepal’s conflict.” He suggested that this peace education should not be limited to Kathmnadu Valley schools but should also extend in other districts school students, which would be contributed for long lasting peace in near future through this educational system.

Likewise, Dr. Kishwor Rajbhandari, President, Global Peace Association who was the Special Guest at the Ceremony stressed that such kind of training program is adopted by WWA as a symbol of peace education programs for the students. It would be helpful to reduce individuals’ anger & fear which will ultimately nurture the overall peace development of Nepal and it should be shown interest by the Government of Nepal.

Prof. Dr. M.P. Regmi, Chief Advisor, WWA, Prof. Dr. Tulasiram Vaidya, Special Advisor, WWA, Dr. Laxman Shakya, Program Director, WWA were highlights of the program and activities. Mr. DM Basnet, Founder President, WWA and chairperson of the program suggested in his concluding remarks that of course, the root of cause of the conflict is anger and fear of individual’s so that if we were able to manage or handle these two problems we should not face any kinds of hurdle in our life. He stated that WWA is trying to comprise this methodology of teaching peace education through school students: Emotional Literacy Program. He would like to suggest Government of Nepal to the concerned authorities to practice this peace education curriculum as one of the compulsory subjects of the school curriculum or extra curricula activities for piloting from their side. He assured that this peace education will be helpful to maintain peace in heart and mind of individuals and will transform into their communities for sustainable peace in the country.

The graduation ceremony was conducted by Mr. Mukunda Raj Khanal, Sr. Program Coordinator, WWA and held in July 31 at Budanilkantha School.
